Terms of Service

1. The service

Provalume (the "Service") is a comparison database that compiles and organizes publicly available information about niche facilities and services. The Service provides information only.

2. No intermediary role

The Service does not broker, mediate, or process orders, inquiries, or payments between users and listed businesses. Any engagement with a listed business is made directly with that business, under its own terms. We are not a party to those transactions.

3. Listings

Listings are compiled by our editors from publicly available information, and each page shows its source and collection date. Basic listing is free of charge. We do not host user reviews. Businesses may request corrections or removal at any time via the request form, and we respond promptly. Where a business submits materials for its own listing (such as a photo or a note), it must hold the rights to those materials; we review submitted materials before display and may refuse or remove any material that infringes rights or is inappropriate.

4. Paid placement

Paid placements (sponsor ads), when offered, are always labeled as ads. Slots are limited (one facility per prefecture for the Prefecture Sponsor Ad; one facility site-wide for the Top Page Sponsor Ad), first come, confirmed on payment completion, with renewals taking priority over new applications. Free periods are adjusted to start from the day the ad goes live. Ad view and click counts are provided as reference figures and no marketing results are guaranteed. Payment never alters the ranking of other listings or the factual content of any listing.

5. Accuracy

We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee that any listing is current, complete, or error-free. Prices and turnaround change. Always confirm with the provider before ordering.

6. Trademarks

All company names, service names, and trademarks appearing on the Service belong to their respective owners. Their appearance is factual reference only and does not imply endorsement or affiliation.

7. Paid listing terms

Paid listings (sponsor ads) are auto-renewing monthly subscriptions. Slots are limited — one facility at a time per prefecture for the Prefecture Sponsor Ad, and one facility site-wide for the Top Page Sponsor Ad; for sections other than HYROX, the slot unit and count are stated on each section's sponsor-ad page and the other terms of this section apply — allocated first come, confirmed at payment completion, with renewals of existing subscriptions taking priority over new applications. Where a free period applies, it is adjusted to start from the day your ad goes live; billing starts automatically when it ends, and cancellation during the free period costs nothing. You may cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period (no pro-rated refunds). Submitted materials are reviewed and published within 5 business days of submission. We may refuse or remove infringing, false or inappropriate content; if we cannot publish, the contract is cancelled before billing starts (with a full refund where billing has occurred). You warrant that you are authorised to act for the listed facility. When a subscription ends through cancellation or non-payment, the paid listing stops being displayed and the slot becomes available. Ad view and click counts are provided on the management page as reference figures only; no marketing results (trial bookings, memberships or sales) are guaranteed. One free period per facility. You warrant that you hold the rights to submitted materials and license us to resize or crop them for display. Price changes never apply retroactively to existing subscriptions. If the Service is discontinued, subscriptions end at the close of the billing period.

8. Payment

Payments for paid placements are processed by a third-party payment processor (Stripe). We never receive or store card numbers.

9. Disclaimer

Except in cases of our intent or gross negligence, our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for any outcome of transactions between users and listed businesses.

10. Changes

We may amend these terms where reasonably necessary (legal or service changes). Amendments adverse to paying subscribers are announced on this page at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance.
